Jill’s fascination with clean modern lines and minimalism started at St Martin’s School of Art where she trained as an artist. The simplicity and fluidity of line shown in works by artists such as Aubrey Beardsley and Eric Gill, and the architects Luis Barragan, Santiago Calatrava and Frank Gehry, have been a great influence in Jill’s  modern and contemporary garden designs.

Japanese cone sculpture, tree clearing and racked gravelHer study of Japanese Zen gardens with their exquisite purity and balance of space, have also had a deep effect on her ability as a creative garden designer. These basic design elements work well even in the more traditional counties of Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, and Bath and North East Somerset where many of Jill’s clients are based.
